This is a actually from a press photo taken when Rick and I took our adventure up Bancroft Creek. We're 14 years old. I think it was July of 1970. The boat in the foreground we built from a single sheet of 1/4 inch plywood. Notice the leak. The two cords we had tied to the front enabled us to walk side by side pulling the boat through shallow water. We were smoking ciagarettes as the news reporter came up with my father in a dune buggy. We had to quickly stash the "harveys" before they were upon us. The Albert Lea Tribune would feature this article as "Youthful Explorers Brave An Adventure" or something like that. The Youthful Explorers part was definitely there.
That night we saw a racoon in our camp. It was a lot of fun.
