Rick's Recipe for a Dylan Evening

It's that bittersweet time of year in Minnesota when you're happy to see spring coming, but at the same time can't help but to look back. To get through the sadness that comes with this season the boys will be getting together to toast Rick's moving on with a glass (too many) of sparkling mead. Some mead that Rick bottled and some that we all made together. This year the party will have an islands theme. We'll swap tales of Rick sightings, the blue CRX we caught up to on the highway. Of strangely familiar people we pointed to on the street, saying simultaneously, "Rick." Someone a little too high will blurt out something about recently driving by Rick's old apartment, bringing a bit of discomfort to the rest of us who wont admit to it. Our friend is never really very far from our thoughts, and may not be that far ahead of us either. Who knows?

In memory of the world's foremost Bob Dylan apostle, we'll be listening to a tape Rick recorded for me before a vacation abroad years ago. To me, Rick's ordering of the songs reflects his life. Maybe you'd like to make one, too. The Rick Sturtz handcrafted "Best of Dylan" tape. Don't leave home without it.

Enjoy,
Rico
